There are only five days left to see the free Photography Exhibit here in the BCN on the la Rambla. The La Virreina - Centre de la Imatge has a small but well rounded showing of photography from Andy Warhol's Factory in New York City. This was not just a place where Andy made Art into "POP" but also a hang out for Artist, Film Makers and every kind of hanger on in the book. All the stories of the factory tell of the Party's, where yesterday's nobody could become tomorrow's somebody.
The First Factory location, the Decker Building on 33 Union Square West, was right down the street from the famous Club "MAX's Kansas City." This was the place where Andy held his "Round Table" in the VIP room in the back. MAX's help make bands famous and Andy took care of everyone else. If you where a Drag Queen he would put you on stage. If you where a beautiful woman you could be the next "It Girl." And everyone was on camera almost every second. But as John Cale said "It wasn't called the Factory for nothing. It was where the assembly line for the silkscreens happened. While one person was making a silkscreen, somebody else would be filming a screen test. Every day something new." This was a place to be and be seen. Here in the light of Andy's fame there was room for all. This Exhibit in Barcelona just till the end of the week gives one a small look at what those times looked like. The work showing in two small rooms has a lot of work by Andy himself, but much more is made up of work from others that where in the Factory just to document what was happening. The artist Billy Name has many works on the wall because he was the in-house Photographer. He was also the one that made the whole place silver from top to bottom with silver paint and tin foil. This made people on the street call the place the Silver Factory. Then one night Billy dragged a Red couch back to the Factory that became a star in it's own right for the Photos, films, and other "acts" made on its crimson upholstery. We will never know just how it felt to be there when the first "Art Stars" came out of nowhere, and when the who's who just became part of the wallpaper. Andy had a Factory and nothing will ever be the same.

El La Virreina - Centre de la Imatge tiene una muestra pequeña pero bien redondeada de la fotografía de la fábrica de Andy Warhol en Nueva York. Esto no era sólo un lugar que Andy hecho arte "POP", sino una caída hacia fuera para el artista, cineastas y todo tipo de suspensión en el libro. Todas las historias de la fábrica todos hablan del partido, donde ayer que nadie podría ser mañana es alguien. La ubicación de la primera fábrica, el edificio de Decker en 33 Union Square West, fue derecho hacia abajo de la calle desde el famoso Club "De MAX Kansas City". Este era el lugar donde Andy celebró su "mesa redonda" en la sala VIP en la parte posterior. MAX de ayudar a hacer bandas famosas y Andy se hizo cargo de todo el mundo. La muestra de trabajo en dos pequeñas habitaciones muestra gran cantidad de trabajo b Andy a sí mismo, pero mucho más de la serie se compone de trabajo de otros es que cuando en la fábrica sólo para documentar lo que estaba sucediendo. El artista Billy Name tiene muchas obras en la pared, porque fue el propio fotógrafo. Fue también el que hizo todo el lugar plata de arriba hacia abajo con la pintura de plata y papel aluminio. Entonces una noche Billy había arrastrado un rojo del sofá a la fábrica que se convirtió en una estrella en su propio derecho para las fotos, películas, y otros "actos" en su tapicería carmesí. Nunca sabremos sólo cómo se sentía al estar allí cuando las primeras "estrellas del arte" vino de ninguna parte y cuando el quién es quién sólo se convirtió en parte de la imagen de fondo. Andy tenía una fábrica y nunca nada será igual.
